Commemorating Saka Dawa, an Auspicious Occasion

On June 11, we invite you to join us and the monks at the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery to celebrate Saka Dawa, an auspicious event when it is said that the effects of positive actions are multiplied many times. We are pleased to offer the opportunity to send offerings and dedications to Tashi Lhunpo Monastery through the TLF, in support of the "One Thousand Offerings Ushnishavijaya" which will be performed on June 11, 2025 at the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in Bylakuppe, India. Everyone is encouraged to participate by making offerings at any time until June 11.

What is Saka Dawa?

Saka Dawa commemorates the holiest and most sacred days in Tibetan Buddhism: the birth, the enlightenment and the mahaparinirvana of Buddha Shakyamuni. Special activities culminate on the 15th lunar day of the Tibetan calendar, which falls on June 11, 2025. Ushnishavijaya is a meditational deity specifically dedicated to longevity, the practices of which carry a powerful blessing which can purify the negative deeds committed in past lives and increase merit and lifespan in the present life.

This special event offering is dedicated to the flourishing of world peace, well-being of all sentient beings and the fulfillment of all positive wishes.
