In Anticipation and Celebration
As with many traditional New Year celebrations all over the world, the Tibetan New Year at the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in Bylakuppe, South India, is preceded by many sacred activities including early morning daily prayers and chanting by the monks in the great Prayer Hall, dance rehearsals, and event planning, all leading up to New Year’s Day with the community to witness festive traditional dances and rituals and enjoy delicious food together.
