Celebrating the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery Monks Education Initiative!

The monks at the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery wish you the best in 2025 as the Year of the Female Wood Snake commences. 

2025 will be a year of renewal. As hard as the monks work on cultivating peace, the Tashi Lhunpo Foundation is tireless in our appreciation of their loyalty and generosity.

This year, our foundation will focus on much needed support for the Monks Education Initiative.

• Funding for teachers is an ongoing challenge for the Monastery.  Support for teachers includes not only salaries but also food and lodging, since they live on campus. 

• Some of the senior monks need to enroll in outside programs to be able to complete their required levels of studies; therefore higher tuition costs become mandatory.

• Other necessities such as computers, furniture, school supplies and books are essential to the education program.

For monks, mental and spiritual nourishment goes hand-in-hand, like a bird which needs two wings to fly! Their high spiritual calling will come into fruition with our help. In return, we benefit from their deep wisdom which they joyfully impart to us. 

We count on you to raise the bar of our commitment to peace and education! This is an opportunity for us to be of help to humanity in a most tangible way. As one proverb says, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day, teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
