The Tashi Lhunpo Monastery supports and houses young monks who were brought by Indian parents aspiring for their sons to become monks. Most of these parents do not have the financial means to support these children. The Monastery, however, is lacking the resources to be able to completely support the daily needs of the monks. We are appealing to your humanitarian spirit for help to sponsor a young monk at the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. Why support a young monk? By sponsoring a young monk, you will be supporting a child who has dedicated his life to a spiritual path. Living a simple life, his daily activities consist of praying, studying and playing. He studies ancient and rich Buddhist scriptures which teach him the principles of living his life for the benefit of others. Your help also enables him to gain access to a modern education which allows him to stay relevant to the outside world and able to understand its needs. But you also benefit! Because through your generosity (called DANA in Sanskrit) you will accumulate boundless merits for your spiritual growth and a better life! Supporting a young monk is in essence a way of helping him help us! Your ongoing support of only $25 per month (or $300 per year) will provide food, clothing, medical care and education for one young monk. Your kind support will enable the young monk to achieve his dreams and make a difference. You will be able to keep in touch with your special “spiritual” child through letters and emails and develop a special lifelong relationship, if you wish.
