His eminence the 7th Palden Sengye Rinpoche was born in Lhasa, Tibet, and fled to India at the age of six. At the age of 12, he was recognized by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama as the reincarnation of the 7th Ngagchen Palden Sengye Rinpoche. He received the Geshe Lharampa degree, the highest academic degree in Gelun tradition, as well as Kachen Rabjampa degree from the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. Today, Rinpoche continues his deep personal practice while also teaching widely, guiding students to cultivate wisdom and compassion. He is also the chief student of the newly enthroned 6th Chief Abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, the seat of His Holiness the Penchen Rinpoche in India.
